The unspoilt River Deben, Heritage Coast, RSPB reserve at Minsmere, timeless seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold together with Snape Maltings Concert Hall initiated by Benjamin Britten, attracts sailors, artists, cyclists, golfers, bird watchers, nature and music lovers alike.

Grundisburgh, with its village green, shops, post office and award winning pub is a pleasant 15 minute walk along the river Lark valley – a designated Special Landscape Area.

St Botolph’s Church, Burgh, at the bottom of the garden, stands on a site where people have worshipped for at least 1200 years. The lower churchyard is a conservation area, managed under the guidance of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

The adjacent field - Castle Field - is a Scheduled Monument and consists of the remains of a quadrilateral Late Iron Age defensive enclosure incorporating a late period Roman villa.

Church House, contrary to appearance, was designed and built by the architect owner in 2000. It is a wonderful combination of traditional lime-washed Suffolk exterior with all the benefits, comfort and luxury of modern technology within. The light and airy interior is a relaxed mix of family antiques, contemporary art and redundant film and BBC props made by the owner.

Welcome to Church House - we are ideally situated 4 miles from the pretty riverside town of Woodbridge with its many historic pubs, restaurants, independent shops and galleries, Tide Mill, Victorian theatre/cinema and the Anglo Saxon burial site at Sutton Hoo.
